The Firestone Walker Brewery in Paso Robles California is brewing some amazing beer, they are also constantly bursting down beer barriers by innovating, and incorporating unique processes to create their wonderful beers. Most notably may be their anniversary beers where are denoted only by the anniversary year in which they appear. Each year the masterminds at Firestone Walker gather some of their most prized beers and present them to a panel of wine experts. What are wine makers doing here?
These wine experts are essentially going to design the anniversary beer, and with no input at all from Matt Brynildson, Firestone’s Brewmaster. The wine makers will taste the various beers set out my Matt and determine which ones, and in what proportion will be used to blend and create Firestone 14, the 2010 anniversary beer. This is both a risky and provocative approach to creating a beer which will symbolize your brewery’s brewing prowess. But once again, it shows Firestone’s customers that they are excited to innovate, and willing to take chances to create amazing beers year in and year out. And the best news is that this beer will eventually find its way to the East Coast! Buffalo, here I come!
