Only 2 weeks after BrewDog released The End of History, Dutch Brewer ‘t Koelschip has released a 60% beer named Start the Future. This beer however does not cost hundreds of dollars; a 330ml bottle is about $45, and they have claimed to produce a reasonable amount of it.
Koelschip for a long time has brewed a 45% beer, Oblilix and has taken on the Scottish boys at BrewDog in what they are calling a little competition, and a joke. Their intent seems to be pure fun, but like these other high octane beers that have been released in the past year, I would be interested to find out exactly how they were made and if they are any good.
High alcohol doesn’t mean its bad, but a vintage whiskey takes 10, 15, 20 or more years to craft. How have these brewers been pumping them out in months? If any brewers of these beers are out there reading this I would be very appreciative if you would explain to me your process and reasonings. Cheers!
