Stone’s 14th Anniversary Ale will be of English Decent

Each year the Stone Brewery forges an Anniversary Beer in celebration of another successful year brewing unique and mind blowing beers. Thanks guys. Some of these beers have been amazing enough that they make the permanent lineup, like the Sublimely Self-Righteous IPA. This year, influenced by a trip to Britain, Head Brewer Mitch Steele and Brewmaster Steve Wagner have decided to make an English influenced IPA, the Stone 14th Anniversary Emperial EPA.

Thanks to TheFullPint for releasing the preliminary pics of the bottle. It is expected to come in close to 9% abv, and around 90 IBUs. It will be brewed with 100% English ingredients, including floor malted White Malt, which is a type of pale malt that was used by the 1800’s Burton Pale Ale brewers. Their water will also be hardened to better mimic the water that exists in Burton upon Trent.

If you want to check out the video of Mitch and Steve talking about it, see Stone’s Vimeo page for more.
